Series of more than 200 drawings.

In January 1996 I resumed a work I had started in 1969.

These drawings have the distinctive feature of being entirely executed with a flame.

This work is not an interrelation between order and disorder, but a game between two fields : the order that we master, which is under control of our will and the order of nature, that we can't bring under control but which is not a disorder, as explained by mathematics under the name of « chaos », but it's an order even more subtil that goes beyond us. And it's the clash between these two fields of the organization which, to me, bring the emotion. As a « magical » effect was born in Monet's white water lilies from the feeling of being at halfway between two worlds : representational and the abstract ; similarly what gives this effect to these drawings is the fact that there are at the boundary of two worlds : the voluntary and the unpredictable. 

Some of the drawings are accompagnied by passages of poems by Yvon Le Men, others by Aimé Césaire, to whom I said that « we shouldn't see in these drawings black marks but an attempt of seizeing the soul and the light. »
